Building capacity of parents in management of children with Disabilities
Care for children with disabilities is most times, is challenging given the fact that parents lack the necessary skills to manage children living with disabling conditions. Therefore, capacity building is one approach that is applied to equip parents with the required knowledge and skills.
Facilitating formation of Parent support groups
Formation of parent support groups Is a strategy applied to elevate advocacy and lobbying spirits of parents to champion needs of their children. We will ensure that parent support groups are formed with their full involvement and participation of parents in order to lobby for services and resources for their children.
Community Awareness on detection of impairments and Prevention.
In order to fight prejudice and social stigma associated with Disability community sensitizations targeting parents, caregivers and local leaders are regularly conducted to create conducive environment for children with disabilities to maximize their potentials.
Networking and collaboration
Working with other players to reach out to children with disabilities is paramount. We strive to create as many as we can networks both at national and international levels that our clients are enabled to access vital services, we believe that through working with players we can tap more opportunities.
Making low-cost assistive devices and learning materials
Accessing assistive devices and learning materials for children with disabilities is a big change, therefore fore to bridge this gap, the organization trains both caregivers and outreach workers in fabricating low-cost assistive devices and learning materials.
